A New Heart

Monday, March 17th, 2008

This is done on a 9x12 inch canvas board. I used acrylics, old paper and fabrics with an old door knob on the heart. I don't put hangers on my work, but you could easily attach a ribbon or twine if you should want to hang it.

Take Flight

Monday, March 17th, 2008

I've done this on 9x12 inch canvas board. I don't have a hanger on it. I like these propped on plate stands or on a bookshelf. I used a bird that I rusted with acrylics, inks and vintage ephemera.

Bingo Series

Monday, March 17th, 2008

This is a series of pieces with Bingo as a theme. In the previous post you see where the theme bled over into another family set. The artist loves the look of the old Bingo cards and playing pieces. She works her magic as usual as you can see.

The artist’s worse half particularly likes the second piece. The juxtaposition of the whimsical bingo theme and the floor plan of Notre Dame is quite the head scratcher. She never ceases to amaze me..

Who will I become?

Monday, March 17th, 2008

This is a picture of my grandmother as a child. I've used different papers, silk leaves, and given them a little distressing. Just like Life! It's on 9x12 canvas board. no hanger, though you could easily add a ribbon if you should want to hang it.

This piece is on 9″X12″ canvas board backed by old encyclopedia pages. I’ve distressed scrapbook pages and a picture of my grandmother as a child. (I know the answer to the question.) The book pages are from _Pride and Prejudice_. The buds of the plants represent youth while the leaves fall into decay. This is about as “deep” as I ever get in my art. Thanks for looking and let me know what you think.
